Christmas is not my birthday

Christmas is many time a product rather than a celebration. If you do not have the "spirit" you are considered a Grinch.let me explain the "spirit". The spirit is not always bad in fact most of time it has great value. the negative connotation that i am giving it refers to the ability of those great things distracting you from the pure joy and awe that is found in a reflective and celebratory time of christmas. the spirit should be like more like pure joy, ecstasy if you will; celebrating that Jesus came down!God himself left heaven(the most wonderful place imaginable) went to a small speck of revolving dust to help the small dust people. I think we know this concept most of the time.
I have many inquiries as to why we have the tree as a symbol before the star and the manger is such a small item that is often hidden in the corner.
I also believe that Christmas is a time for forgetting about ourselves and embracing the process of reconciliation. Re-gifting is a wonderful idea...God gave us grace and mercy..give it back not because it is "Christmas" but because Christ did so for us. Much of this is elementary and simple but i feel it has much weight and value in this time.

Yeah...I definitely feel like all of the hype surrounding Christmas takes away from it's meaning too. I don't even feel like I'm actually celebrating Christ most of the time.
